As Vetavision's keynote speaker, Perrin will conduct readings at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, and at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23. Both readings will take place in Room 2105.
During his Saskatoon visit, Perrin will also be signing his books at McNally Robinson Bookstore from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19.
Perrin, who graduated from the WCVM in 1973, is the author of five best-selling books about his experiences as a mixed animal veterinarian in B.C.
His first book, Don't Turn Your Back in the Barn, has been published in Canada as well as in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea and Estonia.
Other titles in his "Country Vet" series include Dr. Dave's Stallside Manner: More Adventures of a Country Vet, Never Say Die: New Adventures from the Country Vet and Where Does it Hurt?: Further Adventures of a Country Vet. His latest book, When the Going Gets Tough: Still More Adventures from a Country Vet, was released in 2010.
Perrin was raised in a small community near Trail and attended Selkirk College before moving on to the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. After earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree at the WCVM, Perrin practised veterinary medicine in B.C's Kootenay region for 26 years.
