B.C. student finds reward in vet school

Josh Cousins of Kelowna, B.C., is making the most of both the challenges and the rewards of being a veterinary student.

Cousins is one of the students featured in the WCVM series "This is Veterinary School."

Before coming to the WCVM, Josh completed a BSc degree in biology at the University of British Columbia. Josh is as enthusiastic about animals and the natural world today as he was when he was a little boy. He remembers sitting with giant picture books in his lap, pointing at pictures of dinosaurs and penguins and learning everything he could.

Now Josh is getting a chance to experience the real thing as a veterinary student. After he graduates, he intends to practise in a small animal veterinary clinic.

Growing up, Josh never had any family pets. Now he has a cat named Pixel.
